A 1963 Framus Melodie 9-string. That's right. Pic by Garth Blore.
Look again. That's right - a nine-string. It's a rare 1963 Framus Melodie from Paul Day's collection; look once more and you'll see that the top three strings are doubled (but, stupidly, they go to the same 'socket' on the tailpiece), thus giving something of a compromise between six- and 12-string sounds. Anyone got a Greco 10-string? (It had the middle four strings doubled.) Pic: Garth Blore.
